Possibly the most asked question in the universe. One I have asked myself numerous times over 3 decades, with no acceptable answer. I have watched the best people suffer and die for too many years. But nothing compares to when children die due to senselessness. I have two friends who lost children, one to drowning, one in a freak sledding accident. Senseless. Last week, again, we are devastated by senselessness. No rhyme or reason to the loss of 19 children and 2 adults. NONE! No matter the guns, mental illness, security, responders… This, as every other tragic end makes no sense. How can these things happen???!!! I have no answer, nor do the politicians, ministers, pundits, priests, or rabbis.

I have spent more than 3 decades watching and experiencing good people dying. It has never made any sense to me and I have no answers about why.

I have come to believe that we are not necessarily meant to know or understand. I now only believe that someone bigger, wiser, and more loving and forgiving than I am has the answers. And He is who will make it all make sense when we get to where those Uvalde kids are now. And maybe, then, it won’t matter to us, because somehow, it will all make sense.
