I have been humbled by the people I have cared for and the incredible people with whom I have worked. Most of my experience has been as an oncology nurse. I spent 20 years in the hospital setting, then transitioned to home care and hospice before going back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner. I have now been a Geriatric NP for 12 years and have recently returned to my passion, caring for the seriously ill and dying. I have walked with hundreds of people, young and old in their final journey and have been blessed in more ways than can ever be counted by the lessons I have learned from these experiences, the most important of which has been a unique perspective and outlook on my own life. I have always had a passion for medicine and have always enjoyed a challenge- which is why I gravitated towards the cardiac ICU. I love performing hands-on procedures and managing the sickest of the sick. I also grew up with a hospice nurse turned palliative care NP for a mom, so I have been immersed in palliative care from an early age.
